Shedding and Maltipoos
There are 3 types shedding categories . High ,Medium and low ,there is no such thing as a completely non shedding dog unless they have no hair at all ....
Low shedding ...when you brush the dog ,you find hair in hte brush just like humans ..The maltipoo and some crossbreeds like the Shihpoo and a few others ,maltese ,poodle ,shih tzu and others fit in this category . Simply because a high shedder such as the Labrador , cocker or Golden is bred with a Poodle does NOT mean they do not shed ,it means there is a 50 /50 chance they will be in the low to medium shedding category but alot are in the high category .
The maltipoo does need grooming , hair brushed at least 3 to 6 times a week according to the length of hair you keep your maltipoo at and the amount of rolling and playing the maltipoo does to tangle the hair .Any dog that has hair or fur has to be groomed on a constant basis .
Hypoallergenic... Most people because they are allergic to cats thik they are allergic to dog hair ...In some cases that could be true ,in most cases if you are allergic to a dog it is the salavia your are allergic to and not necessarily the hair or other .You can even be allergic to the shampoo or other meds the that is used on the dog ,so it is always best to try and make sure before you decide to keep the pet that you have no reaction to the pet .
All allergies are not the same .That is one reason a good hypoallergenic shampoo should be used . Again there is no such thing as a total hypoallergenic dog ,what one person is allergic to ,another may not be .
Training and the Maltipoo
I can only speak for mine ..not for any other breeders dogs so this is not in general but in information and feedback from my own customers .Maltipoos (mine ) are mostly easy to train .
However , the human must be aware that it is how much time and effort YOU put in that is just as important as what the dog puts in ,sometimes even more so .
Maltipoos (mine ) are loving ,carefree ,happy and likable .
They love kids and adults and make the best theraphy dogs in my opinion .
They cannot (not large enough ) to swim for help or root out the bad guy ,but they can work great with the Elderly and in Doctors and Dentist offices and in schools to help those that need the little extra .
They make great companion dogs ,whether it is one on one or a family pet .That is because it does not take long for them to become ONE of the Family ..
Adaptable and in general get along with other animals ,the maltipoo is here .
